On Friday (September 12), Terry “Southwest T” and Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, the original founders of the Black Mafia Family (BMF) were charged with nationwide cocaine trafficking and were each given a 30-year jail sentence.
According to reports from the Detroit Free Press, the pair were running a “criminal enterprise” from 1990 - 2005.
Last year, both pleaded guilty to nationwide trafficking of large amounts of cocaine.
Though the multi-million dollar organization mostly profited through criminal drug activity, some of the money was earned legitimately via their record label, Black Mafia Family Entertainment.
As part of the plea bargain, both Terry and Demetrius have agreed to pay a sum of $270 Million to the government.
In total, 65 people have been indicted, while most have pleaded guilty.
