Chuck D of the rap group Public Enemy has agreed to perform at a concert protesting against the Iraq War in New York.
Chuck D will unite with musicians from all walks of the industry, including Michael Stipe: front-man for REM. The event has been named Bring Em Home Now! and will be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom March 20th – the third anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.
Carey Spooner of Fischerspooner said "It is impossible not react to the current state of affairs through personal action and artistic production."
The musical event will be followed up by a national speaking tour that will have various authors traveling to fifteen different American cities in April.
More performers are expected to announce their attendance.
