DMX was extradited from Florida, where he has pleaded guilty to drug charges, and sent to Maricopa County Jail in Arizona on an outstanding warrant for missing a court date.
A warrant was issued for the rapper (real name: Earl Simmons) after missing a pre-trial hearing for drug charges, in connection with a previous raid of his Arizona home. Days after the warrant was issued, police in Miami picked X up outside a local Wal-Mart, and he's been behind bars ever since.
Florida judges were undecided on whether DMX should face Florida drug charges first, before he was sent to Arizona to face the slew of charges he faces there – including several drug possession charges, animal cruelty, and identity theft.
However, despite cursing in a Florida courtroom when he was denied bail, X reached a deal for time served and a $483 fine in Florida, and Arizona officials were given 15 days to extradite the rapper.
In Arizona, he is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
