Rapper DMX was sent to jail Thursday after failing to show up for a court date on Wednesday. A judge in White Plains, NY issued a warrant for his arrest, and he showed up in court on Thursday to face speeding and other traffic charges.
The 35-year-old rap star then walked out of Westchester County jail Friday morning after posting $25,000 bail following a night behind bars.
His lawyer told the judge, who had granted DMX two previous postponements, the hip-hop artist was sick.
Police arrested DMX in White Plains on June 2 and charged him with speeding, making unsafe lane changes, not wearing a seat belt and driving without a license.
He was due back in City Court on July 24
