Rapper Jadakiss posted $5,000 bail and was released from jail Tuesday following his arrest on charges of drug and weapon possession.
The artist, whose real name is Jason Phillips, was arrested Saturday after police allegedly found a loaded handgun and marijuana inside of his car during a traffic stop.
In a phone interview with New York radio station Hot 97, Jadakiss said he was doing fine and denied all of the charges.
He explained to the station’s Angie Martinez: "I was outside the car. The car was locked. You figure it out." However, he added, "I should have been home sleeping, getting ready to do the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors with Styles P. Instead, I was in the 'hood, being a knucklehead."
The "knucklehead’s" next court date is Oct. 20.
