Mark Deez and Rukas - Damn if you Do (Remix)

#1
1st verse - Mark Deez
2nd verse - Rukas
Hook - Young B

I think this track is ill as fuck. It is about an up and coming rapper trying to get a deal. His family is completely against him trying to rap but they don't really have any money. They're all tired of living where they live, life is really bad for them. So the rapper has to decide whether to listen to his family or to follow his heart. Rukas elaborates on the situation in the 2nd verse. I believe this track has a lot of substance and will bring back some creativity to 2Pacboard.

Hey Deez didnt see you post this.

Deez did a great job on his first verse I think and Im thankful he came to me for the second verse, which I kindly did in the 45 mins I had but forgot to do an outro (sorry!).

Tight work, I look forward to more colabos with you in the future homie.

sup Mark. it's been awhile. I dig the intro.
The beats kinda cool.
I feel what you saying on the 1st verse.
But I think if you never posted what the song was about I wouldn't know it was about an unsigned MC. I think you should have did it like a story telling track.

In whole, you both came good with the flows and delivery. The quality wasn't that bad. But I've heard better from you.
It was a nice track. I love the hook. It seems to round up the track in a nice vide.

Keep dropping.
Holla back

To be quite honest, we didnt set out to do a story for the track, Mark just sent me half finished song and I went with it. The first verse is personal to him i think, it tells his story, and the second verse is personal to me and life dilemas career and music direction wise, they just seemed to fit. The real theme was supposed to be a Damned if you do and damned if you dont scenario, hes damned if he stays and hes damned if he doesnt, Im damned if i make commercial music and damned if i make underground tracks.

Thanks for the feedback though, I hit up your track Sith.

Intro's good, I had it on a track on my last album. Beat's nice, hat's is a bit harsh quality. Mark's verse is nice, solid flow and good delivery. Lyrics are nice, too. Hook is nice. Rukas' verse was pretty solid, like how you incorporated the "dotted line" line like Mark did. Flow was solid, but slipped a lil bit towards the middle. But I liked the verse. Real solid track here, other than a lil bit shakey quality it was nice.

Peace.

yeah limn, definitely check out myspace - rukas and i are on there- more streethop artists need to get on there. there are some guys with a whole lot of talent - some big-named artists and dj's and some record labels too. great place to get further involved in hip-hop, i'm getting nothing but love over there, so it's good. i think we should get some of their artists to sign up for 2pacboard and bring back some life to the soundlab!

Such a classic dope intro, i like the beat, sounds like devize but im just guessing, deez i am liking your verse on this, you seem to have found a style/delievery thats really working for so thats dope, you have this angry voice that personally i think would get kind of annoying if you dont switch it up for some tarcks but thats just me, coming from a guy with a really mellow voice lol, not feeling the hook, maybe too simple for me i dunno, your flowing hella nice on the opening verse

both you guys are sounding good on the beat. rukas in all honestly i was expecting a doper feature from you, but its still good, im liking how you open and close your verse, again you guys are both delievering well.

respectivley though im not really feeling the track, i think its the feel of the track and chorus, but im loving the theme but i hear what your saying rukas about what you guys were doing with the track about your personal storys and thats solid
