Veteran rapper MC Breed was arrested in Michigan on Thursday, April 3 when authorities took him into custody for unpaid child support payments totaling $220,000.
According to local paper the Flint Journal, police got word that the rapper would be appearing at a local record store where he was scheduled to sign autographs. After making the appearance, police apprehended Breed as he and his entourage left the store.
The rapper (real name: Eric Breed) reportedly has not made a payment in three years. He was recently incarcerated for eight months for a parole violation, which is said to be the result of unpaid child support.
Breed was scheduled to perform on Thursday, on a bill with Lil Wayne, but when he couldn't come up with $6,000 to post bail, he was a no-show for the concert.
MC Breed is best known for his 1991 gold-selling song, "Ain't No Future in Yo' Frontin'." In his career, he has worked with the likes of The D.O.C., Too Short, and Tupac.
He was scheduled in court on Friday, April 4.
