New Orleans rap mogul P. Miller (formerly Master P) announced yesterday (August 14) that he will be launching a new channel titled Better Black Television (BBTV).
Miller says the network will offer a variety of positive shows relating to the black community ranging from drama, comedy, movies, animation, music, politics, and sports.
Members of the BBTV Advisory Board include hip-hop pioneer Kool Herc and actors Will Smith and Denzel Washington.
"I've done a lot to promote and change the way messages are relayed to our children and our families over the last few years," Miller said via a statement. "Promoting positive content and positive messages is so important to educate and preserve the next generation."
"Being exposed to positive content is what changed my life," Miller added. "I believe that there is a market in our community for a new diverse network that provides a new brand of superior programming that caters to all aspects of television from reality to original programming."
Miller plans to officially launch BBTV in 2009.
