A Memphis area police officer has won a $10 million dollar judgment against rapper Tab "Turk" Virgil stemming from a shoot-out during an apartment raid in January 2004.
Deputy Chris Harris was shot in the jaw, hip arm and calf as SWAT team members stormed the apartment looking for hidden drugs. Turk was convicted of the shooting in a jury trial after ballistics found gunfire residue on his shorts. Last August, the former Hot Boys member was sentenced to 10 years in prison for being a felon with a handgun, a fugitive with a handgun and a drug addict with a handgun. He was also sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempted second-degree murder.
