A new album featuring 18 songs written and recorded by late D12 rapper Proof during a 24-hour period in January will be released next year by the artist’s label, Iron Fist Records.
The concept of the album was inspired by Proof’s friend Julius Myers, a.k.a. DJ Jewels Baby, who challenged the Detroit M.C. to write and record an entire album in a single day.
"It shows how serious Proof was about recording," Myers told The Detroit News.
Proof, whose real name was Deshaun Holton, was shot and killed during a dispute at an after-hours club last April 11. He was 32.
