BATE X

As for an early prediction for the winners, I'd go for Real. They "younged up" and they look to be rolling. Atletico is my dark horse. A seriously good side. And Aguero of course. They made mincemeat out of PSV last tuesday. Although it must be said that PSV was absolutely horrid at the back. Especially that Frenchman, Brechet. Christ, he was two steps too late with every situation. Pieters didn't look good, either. Now they may require some time to fit in, Pieters is a young gun and he'll be fine, but that Frenchman is just woeful.

And for UEFA cup, we'll fill in the groups when that stage is reached. For now, the Dutch teams did this:

My club FC Twente needs to patch up a 2-1 defeat vs. Stade Rennes next week.
Ajax solidly won vs. some obscure eastern team with 4-1.
Heerenveen drew with Vittoria Setubal and NEC actually won against Dynamo Bucharest (not bad!).

Zenit deserved at least at draw. Real Madrid were very lucky. Zenit's defense isn't too great though. neither is Real Madrid's. unless they improve in that aspect then they wont be near winning it.

Shahktar have a great team, despite not having as many big names. Srna is a good captain. I hope he becomes Croatia's team captain after Kovac retires.

^^Shakthar's defense played a big roll in their defeat as well. Why did they just expect that barcelona would put the ball out? They put the ball out for their own player who went down "injured". The guy who put the ball out for a throw in didnt even the know his team-mate was down "injured". He was just hoofing it out for a throw in anyway. And they expect Barcelona who are a goal down to give them back the ball. lmao.

Liverpool were ok. Good to see Keane scoring and Gerrard scoring his 100th goal for the club. what a strike it was too. he is such a fantastic player.

Looks like Drogba could be out for a while.

Damn, Aguero is a class act. Argentina will fancy their chances of winning the 2010 World Cup with talents like Messi and Aguero in the team.

Aguero is dope.

Btw the Sky pundits are fucking idiots. i remember the last time they were on they were like "That AguerYo looks a good player" Fucks sake he was the best player in La Liga last season, meaning he is one of the top talents in the world. But I guess Andy 'Premiership is the best league ever ever..ever' Gray has no clue.

Souness is an idiot too, I remember his idiotic Totti comment last season 'What has Totti ever won?' Well apart from Serie A and the World Cup....

Richard Keys can get a beatdown also. Prick.

Anyway...I agree with Bobby about the Barca goal, I hate the kick the ball out rule.

^^well i agree with licking the ball out if an opposition player is genuinely hurt but id expect that the ball is given back. If the team keeps possession and plays on normally then that would be very unsporting. But in that situation tonight, Barca were not obliged to give the ball back to Shakthar. I cant see what the fuss is about.

You should see the pundits on Irish television. They wreck my head. In fairness, John Giles is good and has a great knowledge of the tactical side of the game. Ronnie Whelan is good but then there is Eamon Dunphy. A total idiot. has such a poor knowledge of football, is anti-liverpool and is so pro Man Utd that it drives me insane. id actually prefer watching sky rather than listen to him. Souness is a pundit on the irish channel as well. so he is being paid by Sky and RTE to talk shit lol. The presenter has no clue about football at all.

Licking? :cheesy:

Yeah Pundits just piss me off alot of the time. Paul Merson is a total idiot, why the fuck is he talking about football? The guys knows fuck all about anything.

I feel sorry for Ruud Gullit sometimes, because he speaks the most sense and actually knows football outside the Premiership.

Andy Gray is a idiot though, I wish I had the link to his blog before the AC Milan v Man Utd 2nd leg. Where he totally wrote off every Milan player apart from Kaka and said Man Utd should walk it at the San Siro. Yeah 3-0 Andy Gray. But to AC Milan who walked it. And I'm a Man Utd fan saying that.

Shevchenko just scored his "first" for AC Milan in the UEFA Cup. Good for him, it was a nice finish under the keeper.
