British rapper Ms Dynamite pleaded guilty on Friday to assaulting a female police officer after a brawl outside a London nightclub.
The 24-year-old, whose real name is Niomi McLean-Daley, was involved in the scuffle on January 6 and her brother, Kingsley Daley, was also charged with obstructing the police.
The mother-of-one, who has been portrayed as a role model to young women, won the coveted Mercury Music Prize for her album A Little Deeper in 2002 and has won a string of prizes since, including Brit Awards and MOBOs (Music of Black Origin).
The singer, who wore a black leather jacket and jeans for the hearing at Bow Street Magistrates Court, admitted charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
She was bailed to appear for sentencing later this month.
