As the breaking scene in Germany explodes, the Internationally renowned Hip Hop company Renegade Theatre hits the UK with their award-winning production Rumble.
Inspired by Shakespeare's tragic love story Romeo and Juliet, this explosive production has packed out venues world-wide and is the brainchild of producer Zekai Fenerci, one of Germany’s most influential players within their sizeable Hip Hop scene and directors/choreographers Markus Michalowski and Lorca Renoux.
This trio have created a winning formula of whirlwind moves, street-derived drama and powerful, physical storytelling.
The classic story of the vendetta between the Montagues and Capulets is atmospherically transformed into modern day gangland turf-war with its rival breakdance crews going up against each other with some serious stunts and humour on a set of graffiti'd street corners.
Rumble’s international cast of nine dancers are accompanied by a score compiled by Alexandru Catona, featuring beatboxing, sampling, saxophone, drums and cello.
Rumble has its London debut on 2 and 3 February 2006 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and then embarks on an extensive nation-wide tour.
