Wrestling star Diamond Dallas Page has filed a lawsuit against rapper Jay-Z alleging trademark infringement for what he claims is unauthorized use of the "Diamond Cutter" sign, which Page has used in the ring since 1996.
Page began to use the diamond shaped hand sign in the WCW and it has become his trademark, appearing on merchandise such as T-Shirts, toys and books. After Page made it "famous", Jay-Z began to use the same sign in video clips, photographs and the covers of The Dynasty: Roc La Famillia 2000 and Fade To Black.
Interestingly neither party mentions that rapper Nas in fact used the same symbol in the "It Ain't Hard To Tell" video, which was released in 1994 – well before either DDP or Jay Z began to use the diamond.
