It's not a good time to do it at all. From a personal view, I don't think there are enough fun/smart people around to make for good nominations. From an unbiased view, there's not enough of a community right now to do it. There's a bunch of people who know each other but mostly it's newbie city.
Nowadays only about 30 people will know wtf is going in a Traz thread, while 2 years ago practically everyone who posted in Thugz Mansion knew who they were.
If people don't know the other posters, you'll just get a bunch of lame nominations and ultimately the awards will fall flat.
The last (and first) TupacBoard Awards were already kinda iffy because it wasn't the right time (and I could've done a far better job) as a lot of older members had left already etc.
But I wanted to do them because the chance of the Awards being good was (and still is) decreasing every day.
There was basically a core group of posters and several who weren't as involved but were still known (and then there were the Life/Death retards and all the 0-600 posts unknown members). Now there isn't really a core group but there's plenty of Life/Death retards and all 0-600 posts unknown members. So until another core group is formed, this board is just a messageboard and not a community. And as long as this board isn't a community, the Awards will fall flat.
It's a shame but it's obvious that the board will never be as good as it was. Jon stopping his involvement with the board was a big part of the board going to shit (there have been a lot of people involved with running and helping the site but it was always Jon who ran it. There were just some key figures who set the mood for the board) And to a lesser extent Stephen and Chris no longer wanting to post after several disputes. And of course throughout the years the core members just stopped coming (due to several reasons), that's inevitable.
The board right now is shitty (in my opinion), I don't like posting that much (but I still do because I have nothing better to do
) but I hope for the people who like the board that's in a transitional stage moving towards a new community. Someone then should do the Awards.
(Yea... I'm very, very, very bored right now)
