I don't think there's a functioning 5.0 ROM for the US S3s. But CM12 has started being worked on, so maybe I can hold out hope. If CM doesn't support the S3 anymore, someone on XDA can still make a port based off of CM, right?

I don't know how all this works. I'm back on rooted TW, like I said earlier, because data actually works in my house on TW. On CM or anything else, I learned something about "RIL Stacking" or something like that from XDA and apparently it sucks on AOSP and is best on stock ROMs, or something like that.

I used 5 GB of data this month, and it still wasn't with TW ROM the whole time, so a week or so of data was kind of lost. I have Twitter syncing about 6K tweets a day and downloading images beforehand. And I use Hangouts and Reddit is Fun on there, too, along with sports apps updates. So I guess it adds up. I just do it so I'm using even a gig of my monthly unlimited data. I feel like I need to make a switch to ATT so I can get coverage in my house, at least, and still get 30GB of family data which no one will ever use in my house.

I heard UK release date for the N6 got pushed back to Dec 1st.

The OTA is supposed to be happening around the 12th or so.

Nexus 6 is way too expensive. I think it may be justified by what it is offering, but out of my price range to be honest as I'm not looking to spend that much. I think I'll wait one more year and then see what's on offer. Thankfully, the Nexus 4 will be receiving Android 5.0.

Damn, N6 apparently still doesn't quite stack up to other flagships

"Compromises." That's not what you want to hear when it comes to flagship devices. I was so excited for this one, too. But the comments seem to indicate that Samsungs multi-window and S Pen features can be had on CM and the use of XPosed. I may have to go with Samsung on this one, then. S5 or Note 4.

I would still pick the G3 over the S5. The S5 is pants.

Note 4, possibly.

I personally prefer the G3.

Much nicer than the iphone 6 and 6+. Something I took great delight in showing a friend when comparing phones.

The G3 should be cheap in a few months, on contract. I may look to it then. After seeing all these thoughts and reviews on the latest offerings, it seems like the N6 is an overpriced POS. Poor battery and the fact it's screen is beat by other phones just doesn't justify it.

How hard is it to make a phone that accentuates all of your OS's best features? Why does Google fall short every time when they partner up with a manufacturer?

This just makes people not want to upgrade or some people to upgrade to a phone that's nine-plus months old, because it's a free upgrade and nothing else is exciting.

The G3 battery is it's weakness. It's that big screen. But.... With the G3, you can buy another and swap it out.

Every phone I've owned has had a removable battery. But I've never bought a spare or even replacement one. I guess I'm near a power outlet a lot of the times, so I can always do quick re-ups throughout the day.

I value screen quality and camera quality, really. I think most phones today are fast enough to not lag when switching between tasks quickly, so GPU and CPU performance aren't a big deal anymore. Nor do I game, so that really puts the nail in the processor power argument, for me.

I just want a feature-rich phone, and preferably on stock Android, like the Nexus devices. The N6 might not be that, after all. Maybe the G3 will be free on contract during Black Friday or even during the holidays.

For the first time I'm starting to feel like flashing CM is kind of pointless. After spending a lot of time with rooted TW with all the bloatware removed manually myself and having profiles set with SetCPU, it seems to be just as smooth. But the main thing is my data. Someone on XDA said that non-stock ROMs will have poor reception because of RIL, or just something to do with the radios. And it seems to be true. On CM, data goes in and out and is not consistent. On TW, I only lose connection for a minute a day, oddly enough, as reported by BetterBatteryStats.

So basically I'm saying I wouldn't mind going Samsung again with the Note 4 or waiting out until this rumored S6 next year and dealing with TouchWiz. It isn't so bad if you tweak some things here and there, and multi window is awesome when used with the right apps.

I don't really want a Nexus 6 but I need a new phone. G3 is nice but I feel like i have no idea what's coming out in a few months so is the wait worth it? Damn it
