I have a The Come Up somewhere. Haven’t heard the Double Jep stuff before. How does someone lose the masters?

I really liked them on "How long will they mourn me". I'd surely like to hear their own stuff. From what I've heard it seems like them > the remaining Outlawz. I think in the Outlawz it was all about Kadafi & Fatal that held them to higher standards.

edi, noble, and napoleon are such disappointments not just musically but the way 'held down' pac's name

I think Kadafi (and often Fatal) added more to 2pac's songs than Thug Life, but surely Thug Life were hands down better than the remaining Outlawz. Those 2pac songs that had Kadafi and Fatal on somehow felt heartfelt and more complete to me, while Thug Life never felt as personal, probably the group wasn't as tight. Rated R and Macadoshis are surely better than Edi, Noble or Kastro. Whenever I listened to 2pac's songs that had those 3, they usually had filler verses that I would frequently skip (minus "Hail Mary" and "They don't give a fuck about us" for Kastro, which I actually liked). I think most songs would sound better without them.
Kadafi actually added something really nice to 2pac's songs, "Soon as I get home" and "You can be touched" being my favorites, while Fatal contributed some really bad-ass street vibes to many other songs, and always sounded really smooth on 2pac's songs (Hit em up wouldn't be the same without him). Napoleon was always a mixed bag in my book, but also rather on the boring side, except he made the group feel more complete at the time.

It makes me wonder how different things would be if Kadafi was alive, whether he and Fatal would have enough power to carry on 2pac's legacy better. After 2pac's death, it felt like it was Fatal (who lost 2pac and Kadafi) against the rest of the Outlawz, and the latter ended up having all the say regarding his posthumous albums. It always felt like Fatal and Kadafi cared the most, while the other Outlawz were clueless, and they really sucked without 2pac. They also contributed to very questionable choices on his later albums.

Fatal dropped two really great solo albums and some great mixtapes, and I think arguably Kadafi had more natural skill and charism.
