I remember when Monster came out. I thought it was a pathetic attempt to steal market share from Red Bull. Perhaps it's working cause it's on shelves everywhere and what not. But, still, if I want an energy drink and don't feel like drinking coffee (which is my favorite and cheapest "upper"), I'm going to go with a red bull. I haven't fucked with that 5-hour energy shit yet. I tried it once on a night but I got drunk too so I don't know what was affecting what. I only drink soft drinks when I don't feel like drinking whiskey straight. But I've veered away from coke and went with sour mix instead although that has more sugar in it.
Mix whiskey with ginger ale.

I've never drank an energy drink and I have a can of pop every few months. Go figure.

Go to the market, buy fruit and start making freshly squeezed juice at home every day. That's what we do. It's a satisfying venture because you see that your own hand went into the making of it, plus it saves money and is the healthier option. Really guys, get with it.
yeah that's what I tend to do quite often. I love fresh orange juice.

Citrus will strip your teeth worse than any soda.

AS for these. I don't drink any energy drinks, nor coffee. I rarely drink coke these days, but a few years ago done 6 cans a day. The dentist advised me not to. And I haven't since. I will still drink a couple of cans a week on average. I rarely drink these days too. I think as you get older you don't feel invincible any more.

^ I know. Anything acidic is bad for teeth. The best way is to drink water but I just can't drink too much of it. Makes me feel sick and I have to drink something that tastes like anything afterwards.

Also tea is quite safe. On one hand it's not great for keeping your teeth white but on another it contains fluoride. Green tea is a good way to go though.

Water makes you sick? I think I drink more water than anything. I have a two liter ( I think) Brita jug that I go through in about a day. I stopped buying soda from the grocery store so the only time I drink is if I go out to eat or something. Which is occasionally. But after cutting out soda (namely the caffeine) I no longer stay up at odd hours and have gotten back on a normal sleep schedule.

Maybe it was me drinking them after 7PM or so which would keep me up. Either way, life is good now.

So I shouldn't drink orange juice due to the acidity?

^Nice Smacky. I drink 2 to 3 litres of water a day. It is far away my favourite drink (weird, i know).

Its quite possibly the best drink you'll ever have.
Water can fix a lot of issues. Or..lack of it causes many issues. Got the shits? Headache? Tired? Depressed? Drink water. Get them toxins out your body.

How old are you? You talk like you've got one foot in the grave. I'm no doctor but I believe you should live it up until the day that you quite literally have one foot in the grave. Plus, you should feel invincible. You should feel invincible for your son. He should think you are a superhero and that you will always save him. I'm sure he does feel that way already but you know.

I'm 31. I consider my health now, I didn't a few years ago. I want a long quality life. I don't want to die early just because cheese burgers taste good.

bobby - dont forget that tea is a diuretic drink since it contains caffeine. so bare that in mind when you're training. unless you make up for it by having lots of fluids.

do you take any isotonic drinks? i have a recipe lying around somewhere from one of my sports science fitness testing modules i did in college. much cheaper to make at home that buy lucozade's and other brands in the shops. eight times the saving i think...
