Your Catholic versus Protestant shit makes Yugoslavian derbys look like a regular season match between Chicago Fire and Dallas FC. Keep it going, you make us look normal.

I also hope that Schalke wins... I like the name of the city... Gelsenkirchen. Sounds sexy.

However, I understand Bobby's view. When he did it with Inter, fair enough they can't spend the lavish amount of money on attacking talent like Real Madrid can. It is odd when you have so much attacking talent in a squad and even though it is against Barcelona, surely the likes of C.Ronaldo, Di Maria, Ozil, Benzema, Higuian, Kaka can attack them at will if they wanted to. It works also, the first half they were all over Barcelona by attacking them.
.
They were all over them because they attacked them 30 metres in their own half but did you see how much effort they had to put in to make it work? No way you could do that for 90 minutes.

Mourinho is undoubtedly the best coach in the whole fucking world.
I agree 100%.

As for the anti football that we witnessed yesterday he said:

"Winning titles is wining titles, it's always good. Only a few days ago someone called me a coach who wins titles and not football. Thank you. I like being a coach who wins titles."

Yours meaning the Scottish i presume? where this is all happening.

in fact, i read in the newspaper this morning that the Scottish police did not believe that those who sent these bombs and death threats to Neil Lennon and others were not connected to Loyalist paramilitaries so im guessing it was just Rangers supporters that did it?

no one is arguing that his methods arent effective but can you honestly say that this is enjoyable to watch? as a neutral.

Its important for football imo that this Barcelona team overcome Real Madrid in these games. If not, you will get coaches around the world mimicing this method of playing football whereas if Barca are successful, coaches will look at it and say "well that works well, lets try and coach our young players to play like this".

Iits not so much the actual style of football itself. I can accept when teams play like this when they are inferior to the opposition in terms of personnel. Look at the players Real Madrid have at their disposal, Should they not be expected to at least match Barcelona? You combine these tactics with the diving, play acting, niggling fouling and all that and you get a team coached by Mourinho. Chelsea were like this under him, so were Inter and Porto. Look at Drogba now and compare him to what he was like back then. That Porto team that beat Celtic in 2003? It was like watching the diving championships. And thats not getting started on his arrogance and assholish nature.

The match was not the slightest bit entertaining. In my timezone, the extra time was a real drag which didn't help matters either.

However, considering the way Barcelona play I think their style has to be limited to that effect of boring football. I don't see another way of beating Barca on the pitch. Maybe its why so many people watch Barca play? They seem to run over everyone they play. People enjoy watching a game where Messi is weaving through the defence and going for the hat trick. Some people buy Barca shirts, not coz they support the team but to the effect they know they are wearing a popular team's shirt.

Considering Madrid tried to play and open game at the Nou Camp, they were rocked for 5 goals. They tightened things up and they managed to scrape a draw at the Bernabeu. Now, last night they both were playing for everything. The game was dull, it was about containing Messi and doing so in whatever way they felt it was right. It isn't right but sometimes fans of football have to suffer through boredom when its a game like last night. I thought the World Cup Final was to the same effect.

Personally, I keep thinking I should have watched the North London Derby instead. However, it's not often Real & Barca play each other this frequently. I just prefer to be part of the experience.

Not that I'm comparing computer games to reality but have you ever played FIFA (or PES) vs. some idiot that just keeps diving in to tackle and the ref waves play on? Why not just play the game as it's meant to be played and see who's the better gamer? :)

A cue in action, yesterday.

There was a painful conclusion to an end-of-season party when a Welsh Non-League footballer suffered severe injuries when a pool cue was rammed up his backside.

An as yet unnamed 37-year-old midfielder for Tenby AFC, who play in the Pembrokeshire 1st Division, is still in hospital five days after the incident. A source, believed to be a team-mate, told the Mirror: "It was a bit of horseplay that went seriously wrong. We'd all had a few drinks when one of the lads did a moonie. A player picked up a pool cue and it all went wrong from there."

Another Tenby team-mate, 29, was arrested, but later released without charge by police.
LOL!!:D

This is what many people argue was the reason the World Cup was so defensive and dull.

Anyway, Sergio Ramos dropped the cup from the bus and the bus rode over it. Lol.

^^it was a poor game though. i regret not watching Spurs and Arsenal instead last night.

the highlights were on tv earlier. i was flicking between that and something else. everytime i flicked back to Real Madrid v Barcelona the game was stopped and a player on the ground

^Yep. I always like to tell people who are Premfaces how good the football in La Liga is but last night's game was poor. The amount of diving, fouling was pathetic. The game had no real tempo to it.

Tottenham v Arsenal was a much better game.

But these issues are obviously more prevalent in Northern Ireland.

Is it football or religion though? The lines blur when the glasgow clubs are involved.

^^yes i know but when he said those 2 islands, he includes the republic of ireland. very little happens in relation to that down here.

id would seriously worry for that mans safety if Celtic win at the weekend. or if there is anything like repeat of that cup game.

^^

Is there talk of a cup that includes the Scottish teams and the teams from the EPL?

I would hate that...

But I would like a tournament where Scotland, England, Eire, N.Ireland and Wales play each other.

^^there is a tournament like that. its on atm. the next round of game is one next. Ireland beat Wales in the first match and scotland beat NI. England didnt enter it though. All the games are on in Dublin.

A British League Cup could work. But it would be awful if Plymouth face a team in Scotland. They probably won't be able to afford the travel.
