I am due a new phone next month. But I don't want the Galaxy Nexus. There isn't anything else out there I am remotely interested in.

Perhaps wait to see what gets unveiled at MWC at the end of Feb.
There's also CES in January. That's when Sony are supposed to unveil some of their new phones.
They will have ICS ready some time between January and March and that's probably when they'll want their first ICS flagships out.

For summer 2012 they are already preparing Sony branded phones (not Sony Ericsson anymore). They will use these awesome Ericsson SoCs though.

You have the Galaxy S if I remember correctly? It's still a very good phone. I know it's pretty "old" which creates a pressure to change but it's still good. Even most mid-end smartphones that are being released now still aren't as good.

So I'm looking for the ICS ROMs to start hitting devices and on CM's website, it appears that all nightlies, or most devices with them, had their last nightly updated on 11/16. Why is that?

Don't know if I posted this, but I broke the screen to my iPhone and then went for a Galaxy S2 as a new phone. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I broke the screen on that too. The motherfucking shit fell out of my pocket as I was getting out of the car, hit one of the levers to adjust the seat, and bounced down onto the ground. So I had a friend change the screen and glass on my iPhone and I'm now back to the iPhone.

Emotions: When I went from iPhone to Galaxy S2, the S2 felt "clunkier" to use. It felt as if though it took more keypresses to achieve the same things. As time progressed, I got used to it, and started liking how it also gave you more options of customizability. The menu and back buttons, although you don't need them on the iPhone, are a preferable method of navigation now that I've used them for a while. Tbh, going back to the iPhone it felt "simple". The camera isn't even comparable, and damn do I miss the Galaxy S2 contact list which integrated with Facebook and Skype and all that. Everything in one contact and an auto-feature to merge contacts.

And Widgets. The biggest thing I miss is the widgets, the ability to make the phone your own. Changing the UI. Fast access to often used features. Even something as simple as placing a contact on the front screen and resizing it to be bigger was genius. My second home screen had all my most used contacts with big buttons with pictures on them. Now I have to either start the phone app and go to favorites (which isn't always selected by default) or scroll/search the contact list.

Also, the screen feels less responsive than I remember, but that may have to do with me having the screen replaced by an amateur.

All in all, I missed my iPhone the first day or two with my Galaxy S2, but now I've been back on the iPhone for a week and I still miss my Galaxy S2. Next phone, next year, will be Android again. And I will have the Galaxy S2 screen replaced in a while too, just cba to buy a new screen for it yet as it's Christmas and I need the money.

Bad luck. I've dropped my phone countless times and the screen has never broke. I've even dropped it in a sink full of water and it still works. Being that it's an HTC device with shotty build quality I should have expected it to break countless times, lol. Seriously though, was it that much cheaper to have the screen on the iphone replaced?

im not sure about the price of the 4 now, which is what i had. but the 4s starts at around 2600nok (locked, which i couldn't get because my main subscription is a business subscription and i already have one extra for the s2) and the monitor was on 30% sale for 700nok. so around 1/4th the price, yeah. i'm not gonna buy a 4s with such little improvement anyway, and i'm not gonna buy an iphone 4 overpriced either. the iphone was cheaper to fix than the galaxy s2.

It's really hard to break the gorilla glass. I'm surprised that it shattered that easily.

Iphones are very fragile though, I've seen the Iphone 4's screen shattered numerous times.

The shitty part is, I actually dropped it lots of times and felt like it was a rather sturdy phone. The iPhone 4 that is. Maybe I was lucky. One day it gave in. Damn sweat pants.
