I have run out of things I want to watch on Netflix...!

They need to sort out a subscription free Plex app for the chromecast now, so I can try the media from my server.

Might sound like a stupid question but is IPTV Deals (Bein Sports and the Sky package) illegal?

Also, do you have the Mag 250? Can it record, rewind, pause TV?

It is illegal. I do have the Mag250, but I am probably going to sell it soon. And... It can do the record, pause, rewind bit. But your supplier may disable it. Mine has.

Are people using hangouts as their SMS app?

I have been since it was made available, but have had enough of it now. It's far too laggy and unresponsive. Really pissing me off.

I use Hangouts solely for chatting with friends who are still overseas that I meant on the island. It is my more-convenient version of Whatsapp. I can answer messages on my phone and on my computer, so I don't need to be a slave to my phone when I'm away from it. I also like that I can video chat, whereas Whatsapp can't.

This probably wouldn't have happened if Whatsapp hadn't badgered me about buying the app after one year of use. Everyone has told me that they stop asking after a while, but for me, they just kept going hard at it with the pop ups and blocked me from receiving the messages. That's when I gave them the finger.

I get 7000 less films and shows than those in the USA. We have too much other choice in the UK and they all have exclusive licensing deals with different studios.

Use a Chrome extension called "Hola Unblocker." It is available for Android as well, but I am not sure how you watch your Netflix.

If it means the addition of 7000 new shows, I would suck it up and watch it on my laptop if there was no way to get whatever set up you have to play it. Go back five years and connect your laptop to your TV with HDMI and watch it in your browser. Just have Hola Unblocker and click on the American flag icon when it asks you what country you want to view as. I watched plenty of US-only shows when I was on the island this way.

Yep.... But it doesn't work on the Chromecast without a shitload of fucking about. And.... I can't connect my laptop to my TV. Principle. :)

I have everything I want on my server. But was playing with the chromecast. Might give the chromecast to my mum.

I do use Hola on my TV boxes to stream NBCLive, when I need to.

And you can't use Netflix on your TV box to use Hola for that?

There is an app called TunnelBear you can use just to log in with a US IP and then shut it off after that. I say shut it off because you're given just 500MB a month of bandwidth, but you just have to pass Netflix's log in and then you're set.

I can. But... What will I use my chromecast for? ;)

I wish the Hangouts app disappears entirely from my phone. I wish Google wouldn't force their shit on me. I will not use Google+ and I do not want unneeded apps on my phone.
Also wtf is wrong with Google about the stupid Google settings "app". It just stores shortcuts to settings of various Google apps..! Someone at Google lost their mind.

The honeymoon period is over. I think Google is going to pull the same shit as Apple now in how much of your device you can control. You might be able to customize things like font and themes, but they're going to flood your shit with ads and start adding and removing services they feel you do not need.

I mean, what was wrong with Reader? Let's go back four years and was Wave really that bad of a thing? Now they're taking out Schemer and a few other things I don't really use but I'm sick and tired of shit being moved around on Android. Apps are being combined and fucked up. What happened to Local? I had a Local app in my app drawer that I used to find random shit in my area. I didn't have to type anything in, it just told me restaurants, shopping places, etc., in the area I was in away from home.

Now I think it's hidden away in the Maps app? Which also absorbed the Navigation app?

They're not major quibbles, but it's enough to annoy me and it's enough to give me a nagging feeling that Google is going to continue to start stepping on toes with some of its decisions and eventually become the very thing we hated in Apple and Microsoft.

I just think this was all brand new to them and they're just now starting to clean things up. Most of the changes aren't that bad, I like Hangouts but I hate the lag it comes with, clean it up a bit and I'll have no problems using it. I like most of the changes they're making but I still flash custom shit on my phone to make it how I want it

I think Google sometimes lose their shit. Maps UI is now weirder in the name of "simplicity", I believe. For instance, I'm no longer able to manage offline maps. Sure I can download an offline map (although I have to look on the internet how to do it now as nobody would be able to find that option now) but I have no clue whether it's still there nor can I delete them unless I delete cache. Also, I can't find directions between places other than from the place i'm currently in as easily, or I have to look in weird places of the UI for things that should be easily accessible. At the same time they added a separate fucking app with shortcuts to things that are hidden deep down in settings of various other apps. I find this ridiculous. I mean, I love Maps but they are fucking with that app so much. Same with Youtube. It no longer pre-buffers videos so I end up with having to re-launch a video 2 to 3 times on average as it randomly stops loading and/or gets really choppy. Once Maps and Youtube for Android were perfect. That was in 2012 I believe.

I think the problem is with your samsung phone. Let me guess, in 2012 you weren't using it. Because all those apps work fine for me.

Actually I mostly use them on my Nexus 7. It's how those apps were redesigned, not that they don't work as intended. They work the same on my Samsung phone - just faster and on a better quality display :p
