I'll be considering it when I'm ready to upgrade. Still, it's pretty sad that Google has managed to get into the "walled-garden" of Apple and still gives it better and more features than its own OS. I don't get what the hold up is.

Also, I switched my compiler thingy to ART yesterday. I don't really see a difference in anything. Did I do something wrong?

GPE doesn't mean shit anymore. The M7 and M8, both, are now getting 4.4.4. Hasn't it been close to a month?

From what I've read these first generation watches seem pretty useless, I'm gonna wait a bit. I wore the Galaxy Gear for like a weak and it was just a fancy notification watch

That was my impression from the demonstrations. It seems more fiddly in a sense but I'll probably wait a few years before considering whether I want one or not. IT would be nice, but it'd be another thing to worry about and charge and ensure that it works with the phone. I wonder what kind of connectivity issues/implications would arise if for whatever reason either one of the devices was playing up. The watch would be useless if the phone was malfunctioning...

I too might be a bit cautious. We don't need another Google TV thing, which I was also retardedly excited about after demoing it.

Watches won't gain SIMs, will they? Where a watch becomes a standalone device, if someone really wanted it to be that way?

I think that one looks the best, so far.

Someone I know got some Martian brand smartwatch. Never heard of it. But it's about the same price as current Android watches, but I'm not sure of the same functionality. I think they look better.

The Moto 360 looks like a stylish watch + displays notifications. Nothing more nothing less but sounds reasonable if you want a watch anyway, unless it requires charging frequently.

I prefer square screens to circular ones. Also, I'm impatient. I like getting in on things from the beginning. I had the G1 from launch when nobody knew what Android was, and I'd already been following the development of the operating system for a year before that.

Reviews seem pretty good to me.

I heard that the watches are good but I think there was something that recently (in the past few days) that gave me the impression that these were not as good as first thought. Probably just a misleading headline.

3 days in and I fucking love my G Watch.

Android Wear is one of those things that once you've got it, you can't remember how you lived without it.

Seriously, the ability to just instantly see your notifications and just get on with your day is amazing. Not having to pull out my phone when it buzzes and it turns out to be just a Facebook comment reply, or an Instagram like, or a Twitter retweet, or a Snapchat from a random mate..... ie things that aren't that important.... it's incredibly refreshing.

Before this, I would habitually check my phone every time a notification went off, in case it was something important. But it's actually not usually that important. Not having to do that now is seriously helping my ADD. Especially since I'm a serial procrastinator. Now, I just get on with what I'm doing.
