At this point Nas and Hit-Boy are just spamming albums. I can't say I don't like it since between some "quantity over quality" verses, I like some of those tracks. But Nas has become so prolific so late in his career. Like, nearly half of the tracks he released over his entire career that started in 1994 were recorded in the last 3 years!
Some of his lyrics sound like a senior citizen rapping though.
I prefer to call it "Adult Rap" but I see ya point..
x- old motherfuckers trying to to be young o- old motherfucker that young people want to grow into
You either scrape or get scraped
You either in or out you rollin’ or you just in the way
What this all really means I had to reload the drake
80 years old I’m still gonna have a chain, a kilo it weigh
Speedos on the beach, my belly out when I land in Capri
Wearing black owned designer (uh)
Math on my mind (Ok)
It’s a while before I get there, almost past 49
I be on the block easy with a glass full of wine
Red Chrome Heart lenses to see I’m in my third prime
The Q-U-double E-N-S
Yall gonna need some EMS when we drop this and that’s a bet
Voice in one thing, and another is that his lyrics are quite boomer at times. Lots of reminiscing and trouble getting with the times in a convincing way.
The message I'm getting is that he misses his golden days of 20-30 years ago and feels superior that he was "in" at that time, and any modern references feel kinda forced.
