https://nypost.com/video/cardi-b-fu...-election-result-as-trump-emerges-victorious/

The media lied to us again telling us Kamala had any chance and these out of touch celebrities don't even know why so many people voted for The Orange Man. Out of touch. They live on private jets. When was the last time Cardi B went to a grocery store to buy food for a growing family? Just saying.

I bet the two failed assassins really regret their stupid decisions now. It's insult to injury to know that one of them is known to have been a victim of a fake persona and recruiting people to fight in Ukraine. The retard would be a clown of the year if the situation in Ukraine wasn't so tragic. Fake persona. Ha ha

I don't remember many other challengers to Biden, other than Harris, who eventually became his VP.

I don't know if what I said makes sense, but basically both parties trotted out one option each and voters were forced to choose between the two. I know, that's how elections work, you have a party nominee and they face off. It feels like the Dems skipped all the other steps leading up to choosing a nomination and that left voters, rightfully, ignorant to the party's goals and visions for the future.

I think some Dem voters voted for the party and others wanted a change and went ol' Donnie boy.
Yeah, you're not wrong. Biden, and those around him, needed to assess the wisdom of having him run again early on. She had like 110 days to campaign. Only political junkies like me really knew her. She got like 10-15 million less votes than Biden in 2020, and they didn't go to Trump. Those people just didn't vote. I think Biden got so many votes because everyone blamed the pandemic on Trump and they wanted change. Now, just the prospect of another Trump presidency wasn't enough to get as many Dems out. Plus, the attack ads on her were effective. Young progressives hated the administration because of the Palestinians, so they stayed away. But for Trump voters, the last election was stolen, as far as they were concerned, and they've been waiting 4 years for payback.

"They're eating the cats, they're eating the dogs" proved a more effective message than "let me help you buy your house."

Dems are going to need someone with a proven track record of defeating Trumpism. It has to Biden in 2028. :D

Biden ‘rushing’ billions in aid to Ukraine as Trump win fuels uncertainty

Wow, Trump is so bad.

What the Democrats need is

American liberalism needs a major overhaul and it needs it from the ground up. The change will not come from the existing status quo.

I read that this was the third election in a row where the polls grossly underestimated Trump voters.

I also saw that Nate Silver, who called 2016 accurately, gave up on his model before the end of the night. I forgot his reasoning but it was something about not being able to account for the changes that were taking place as polls were closing.

There's an underlying issue with a lot of voters that the media doesn't seem to want to talk about. And voters don't want to either as they may be lying about who they are voting for. And I don't think this election addressed that issue and it likely won't fix it.

I'm keeping an eye on who or what gets blamed for this one. The top two candidates seem to be men and also white women.

Other candidates are:
1. He did Joe Rogan, she didn't.
2. She should have picked Shapiro for VP instead of Waltz
3. Biden shouldn't have called them garbage.
4. Elon's army of crypto incels activated
5. Russia did something
6. The Gaza slaughter did it

Some of those played some part, but the main reason she lost seems to me straightforward. Those voters who don’t follow news closely, don’t show up at every election, i.e., most, were still pissed about high prices and/or the border, which is sort of the post-pandemic effect that has taken down incumbents all over the world. Biden's ratings were already low and then Harris comes in and had 100 days to introduce herself to the country, and that was just not enough for the majority who barely pay attention to politics. And perhaps voting for a black woman was a non-starter for some in white rural areas or among some Hispanics. Also, Harris seeming to lean to the left of Joe on some issues didn't help with the moderate Dem base. They, like MAGA, are also sick of gender identity issues, trans men in women sports, new pronouns, students trashing college campuses because of some cause they've taken a fetish to, anti-racist Tanasi Coates shit, all of which the Biden Admin didn't speak out against but indulged, not wanting to alienate any cohort in their coalition, thinking that was the future of the Party and where the votes were.

Yeah, I can agree with all of that. I don't want a transperson assaulted or killed. I don't want them barred from 99% of things (athletics, I think they should put all trans people in one league). But I find the strong-arming of choosing a bathroom, being coddled in professional settings, etc. to be a red flag. And it's not always them that's concerning but those who support them, tooth and nail. Like they aren't human and that they can do no wrong.

Same thing with the women's healthcare stuff, including abortion. I will always value the living woman over the embryo/fetus/child. If she's at risk or just doesn't want the kid, end the pregnancy. But boy some of the pro-choice women give off vibes like they get knocked up and get abortions for fun and someone is coming to take their sense of joy away from them, the way they push for it. Like coming for a Republican's guns. The reaction is what makes it all so suspect.

I have read people say that the Dems ignored the middle class. Could be. I've been hearing about its disappearance since I was in middle school in the early 2000s after Dubya's first term.

Both sides seemed to have ignored the moderates. Their bread and butter has been segregating the public to extremes and hoping they segregated the right amount to their side in order to win an election.

I also heard what you listed as the first reason. Rogan is an odd man. He loves money and I am sure that swayed who he "endorsed." I don't think either candidate had anything to lose by going on his show, though. Their job was not to convince Rogan but instead to make their final cases to one of the most popular podcasts out there. I don't think Trump won because of it, but I do think Harris would have at least introduced her policy to people that may have otherwise been ignorant to it. If she gained support from there, it would have been small, but it would have been something. As you said, there are 100 reasons people are giving for her loss/his win. Some of them are valid. Had Harris done the "small shit" like an appearance on Rogan and a few other big name podcasts, I think it would have added up to at least be a closer race.

Silver lining? Dems don't seem to be as vulnerable to voting along party lines and switching parties if need be. Republicans? Eh, the numbers don't show a lot of open-mindedness on that front.

I wonder what @masta247 is going to do for his tech when these tariffs inevitably hit lol

I think I am good on tech for a few years and I'm praying none of my parts take a shit on me in a few years.

I guess when the right gets upset at the election they storm government buildings.

When the left gets upset at the election they ask for safe space and tips on dealing with severe depression.

Most people aren't melting down. It's just the media's game. Get ready for rocky 4 years! We have a convicted felon and a woman hater for a president!

Only in America are the democrats considered liberals. In the rest of the world outside of the crazy areas in the middle East, they are considered right of centre

Your country is a fucking mess. Let's be honest, the world is a fucking mess.

You mean the creepy pedo women? I don’t think it’s glossed over, it’s just there are still men that pretend that’s the ultimate boys fantasy. I’ve had men tell me their first experiences were with older women when they were young teens and they don’t understand why it’s concerning.

I have heard they both wanted their own labels. Diddy has even said Biggie wanted his own label. But I never heard they wanted a label together until recently.

Whether it's appropriate or not, if I was a teenage boy and a hot female teacher wanted sex with me. I'm definitely not going to the police and I'm keeping that going for as long as I can!!

Mary Kay Letourneau?

I read something about Diddy's party guest showing up for Kamala. I can think of at least one rapper that would never hang out with Diddy.

Sex is a powerful thing and the Democrats want to use and abuse it. Even stupid people know the Democrats are out of their fucking minds.

'm loving the liberal meltdowns.
I heard unhinged women are stockpiling abortion drugs. That's just the media's narrative, right? right? I also heard State abortion rights have been overall upheld. Where do these bitches get off thinking abortion is a national cause? Seriously. 4B movement? LOL there ya go.

1. Joe Rogan has nothing to do with it. That's a niche that other can fill. Maybe if Mrs. Harris was Mama Harris!
2. Shaprio isn't going to change the fact that people in PA are struggling. Some are not going to vote for somebody that spent that last 4 years supporting a demented puppet.
3. Clintons, and thus Obama should have skipped Biden, sent him off to Ukraine to serve on a board of an energy company while pretending as a "peacekeeper." Take the fall for the Dems Ukraine kurruption.
4. Elon is Kamala. Meaning that somebody can't just show up in the last few months and take credit for the success. The reason why people don't get Trump is because they take all the Big Media bullshit at face value. Confirmation bias and we all do it.
5. Russia is getting their fuel depots blown up by US/NATO supplied weapons and the Russian people are laughing at Americans for being so stupid.
6. The Gaza genocide.

The main reason why Kamala lost is because she never had it. Half of America is "put off" by the arrogance of the elites and their Democratic party, with their celebrity parties. Interesting how this election appears to be soul searching moment of the American left. GOOD. It's about time.

"Elite" and "elitist" is a pejorative brandished by the right with the intention to discredit, but isn't what they mean by that someone who is educated or an expert? Someone who has studied, trained, has a degree? Why? Because those people reject their agenda for the most part. But if they were diagnosed with a brain tumor, I'm sure they would want an "elite" neurosurgeon to help them. Soon literacy will be considered "elitist."

If they really think Putin controls Trump then they deserve Biden I guess.

I think in this context, elite means people who have power and control over society. The kind of people that pays for the elections. And yes, Elon's an elite and he's a bit off-putting. :D

Among the first things Trump says he wants to do is close the southern border. OK, I don’t know. Sounds like that will lead to some problems. Then he wants to drill, drill, drill. Sure, you can bring the price down if you do bad things, like drill on federal lands, national parks and waters. So that’s bad. Then he’ll probably pardon himself for whatever he can. Then probably the Jan 6th rioters (1500+) and other criminals he likes. He also said he’ll make prosecutors and judges pay for bringing multiple criminal cases against him. I don’t know what looks like, but not good.

Mass deportations. That would cost billions of dollars and leave businesses short of workers. He wants to put the kibosh on Green New Deal stuff like offshore wind energy projects. That sucks. Put the kibosh on electric car incentives. Elon can’t be happy about that. Elon thinks he’s going to run the economy or something. Trump is giving him the made-up title, Secretary of Cost Cutting. Now run along back to Twitter, Elon.

RFK wants to remove fluoride from drinking water. Probably a good thing, it’s not good for the body. But he wants to replace it with billions of worms. Clearly, the worm in his brain has its own agenda.

Trump wants to end federal funding for certain schools pushing race, gender and sexual orientation classes. This might be a good thing.

A lot of what he says he wants to do is illegal or impractical.

What good can I see from a Trump presidency. No wars, if it’s up to him. We can forget a war with Russia, at the expense of Ukraine, of course. However, he will let Israel, maybe with our help, hit Iran hard. But no boots on the ground. That’s good, too. The price of gas will get lower. Food will not. And then his tariffs and proposed national sales tax will raise the price of everything.

Since he can’t run again and/or won’t leave anyway, he shouldn’t be beholden to anyone. He doesn’t have to follow a GOP agenda or care what voters think. For instance, he doesn’t personally care about the abortion issue. So maybe he won’t even touch it.

Can’t think of anything else positive. Many, many negatives. My biggest concerns are hits to Social Security/Medicaid, the environment, the rule of law, and yes, democracy.
