they imitated the style and the fashion, and even the slang of rap music, yes. but just because the majority of rappers are black, that doesn't mean that anyone who listens to the music or imitates the dress or slang is trying to be black. if anything they are imitating the rappers, who happen to be black. they are in no way trying to be black, or acting black, or even imitating being black. if you can't see the difference between following a trend and trying to imitate a race, then i can't help you.
i mean, would you say a black man who dresses in skater clothing and listens to punk music is trying to be white? try to use reason and think about what you say before you come out and say it and make yourself look ridiculous. and also don't forget that you are a white (i assume) person on a hip-hop board with mostly white members. i guess we all (yourself included) are trying to be black right? i'm sure a lot of us dress in the style of hip-hop, most of us use slang, and shockingly enough, some even wear jewelry! what a bunch of wannabes we all are, huh?
