I'm so tempted to throw in my own analysis, but since FlipMo turned the thread into slagging wannabe-shrinks I'm just gonna say FOR SHAME KARAN, FOR SHAME!
Jokes aside, I'll say one thing I thought when reading your post. You said you outgrew it, that you used to be like that, but that it's for unintelligent people. So in other words, it's a phase everyone goes through, and you are hating on people who are younger than you for being younger?
I have completed 2 masters degrees (with high distinctions) and work for an international tech company as a strategic consultant. Our parent company is worth over $90Bn and operates in more than 40 countries also..... So what?
Spending time with my friends or reading a book are my choices

That's you. And that is your choice.
Some people don't want to read a book, and might want to spend some time alone in front of the box. People differ in terms of entertainment.
Here, I'll be a arm-chair shrink myself, here's a thought. People that go out and judge others based on what they watch suffer from insecurity, they feel the need to be pseudo-intellectuals to give themselves merit in their everyday life.
Woohoo. Let's all be psychologists!
/end sarcasm
Seriously now? Are we actually having a convo about who's smarter cause they watch Survivor or Lost?
PS: Lost sucks.

I dont know why hizzle had to point out his resume but anyway...
Of course I know that people find 'entertainment' in different things, just like in the movie thread some homo will like twilight... who am I to judge?
I love watching movies myself, it was just MY opinion that all reality shows suck and, fair enough they dont require 'brain power' but I dont think thats a necessity to being able to relax... if that makes sense..
In my own life, I require more stimulation... even in my down time
I think he was just pointing out that he has long ass days, and at the end of it - he doesn't care what he watches, as long as it gives out a sense of entertainment. Wrestling and J.S may not ooze intellectualism, but it sure as hell can be entertaining when it wants to be. So, I see where he's coming from.
I'm not a huge Reality Show fan myself, I'll watch Survivor (as do a few other members on this board - we have an epic thread) and J.S if I'm home. I do agree that most of them are arse, as are most shows on TV channels (minus AMC, HBO, History and Discovery channel ) but it's sad when peoples' whole livelihood needs to be judged on something they watch. I wasn't targeting you in specific vg4030 with the sarcasm rant. Just pointing out how ridiculous the idea behind it sounds.
Twilight sucked, I watched the first one out of curiosity. Horrible acting lol.
We need to stop using people's real names on here.
I was merely making an observation. No psychoanalysis. But we all have a little Freud in us. Like we all want to fuck our mothers and kill our fathers. Or wish we had penises and resent our mothers for not having them.
Why for shame, Preach? Doesn't every adult do that?
I won't lie, I'm guilty of the Freudian touch as well. I used to do it all the time until I got a piece of my own medicine, now it tends to only come out when I go off on a passionate rant, which isn't often.
That being said, I have a step-sister by marriage (no blood relations), and she has amazing boobies. That is all.
I was once like this in high school
I grew out of it and now see it daily on people from high school's Facebook statuses. Including the children of celebrities that went to my high school or college. But that's a story for another day.
big brother is the worst reality show ever. They cancelled the show, and then another channel signed a deal to bring it back.. there's no getting away. doesnt make sense since the ratings were dropping...
I myself don't have a problem with watching entertaining stuff that's not necessarily deep. Sometimes I'll watch Pimp My Ride type programs or that pawn shop show where people come in with valuble or worthless stuff and the guy makes them an offer or sends them walking. They can be interesting. But with these reality shows, even if they can grab my attention for the moment with a fight or something, it's just the whole notion of watching dysfunctional attention whores act out for the camera makes me feel that not only am I wasting my time, but by watching it I'm endorsing this kind of behavior, this type of programming, and the dumbing of America and the rest of the world.
(OMG, I just realized I'm missing Keeping Up With the Kardasians! In this one, Kim discovers a serious rash on her legs and fears her career may be over. Also, after a big blow up, Rob admits to Kourtney that he doesn't hang out with her anymore because he hates Scott. OMG I can't wait!)
