I understand it's a rant and it probably came off the top of your head but honestly, it's so flawed you gotta do a double take.
He was a bit extreme, but he made a fair point. There are more important things in life, and in comparison, being insulted by whatever means is the very least one you should be concerned about. It is not important enough to warrant death threats, it's not even important enough to even be acknowledged.

This is what religion does to people, especially the poorly educated. All that results is illogical and irrational bullshit. Wise up fellow Earthlings, its 2010 for fuck sake.

Listen, if we can say "fuck Pakistan" and just shit on Muslims in general, every member that got banned for saying "n1gger" should be brought back. How is "n1gger" bad and "fuck Muslims" not?

Ni-gger is a racial slur. "Fuck Muslims" is not. We've never banned anyone who said "fuck white people," "fuck black people," "fuck Serbia," "fuck Christians," "fuck blumpkin," etc etc.

We allow people to express their opinions, it is when they resort to unintelligent name calling and racial slurs that they get banned. If someone says they dont like gay people, we wouldnt ban them, but if people go on "faggot this faggot that" rants they get banned.

Wait, so now "faggot" is a grounds for banning?

I think "fuck 'anyone'" is pretty hateful. But ok.

Fuck anyone is hateful. Obviously.

See the below rule puts everything in its place.
Anybody deemed to be so stupid that their posts lower the combined IQ of the community will be banned. This is a grown up community built around mature discussion; we are not baby sitters.
If someone says "_______, you're such a faggot", it'll probably get a pass. But if you keep abusing it, over and over again, then it'll probably get a ban. Because then it falls under the following:

We do not accept our forum members beefing with one another. Disagreements of opinion and arguments are normal but please do not cross the line by allowing it to escalate to beef and personal abuse.
Bottom line is use common sense.
Who gets to decide what warrants a ban and what doesn't? What is too much and what is not?

The admins & mods.
But if you have a little common sense, you'd ("you" being anyone Dilla, not just you) know what warrants a ban and what not.

It's not even like that, I don't see Duke's logic behind going on a rant for when DJ Manny made a comment that had nothing to do with Duke's rant.

Casey said:

Casey Rain said:
say we kill allah for allowing him to exist.
So DJ Manny responded to that by saying:

DJ Manny said:
you got a problem with muslims :suspicious:
Duke said to DJ Manny:

Also, again, way to defend your faith. Really, good job. This fucking topic is about a fucking COUNTRY wanting to kill a man for a little bit of blasphemy.
First of all, yes, the topic WAS about a country wanting to kill a man for a little bit of blasphemy. But when Casey mentioned the death of the Muslim peoples God, the comment/thread direction was no longer aimed at Pakistanis. So DJ Manny responded at Casey's comment.

Duke said:
Now, instead of you saying "Aah, fellas, these Paki's have their head up their ass, don't think they represent all the muslims", what do you focus on?

A comment about Allah. Whooptywoop, there's an entire COUNTRY misrepresenting your religion but you immediately focus on your pathetic self-victimisation.
So why wouldn't he focus on the direct comment from Casey?
PAKISTAN'S gov't chose to put those rules down...so if anything it should be fuck Pakistan for that. They feel like that's what their country should do.

Duke said:
Go fuck yourself. Go live in Pakistan if you think they're so great. Fuck off out of the West.
Lol, just angry.

Very angry. That was exactly my point. I understand why you defend him a bit, but as I said, Manny's comment fell very wrong with me, and this is why:

There's a thread about a country wanting to death-penalty-charge a man that incited blasphemy. Now, whether you think blasphemy should always be non-punishable (Casey, Joker, me, prolly Da Funk, Gotti) or that you think blasphemy should be a bit restrained for the sake of respect (lotsa others), it's pretty commonly agreeable that the death penalty is a "bit" harsh, yes?

Now, Casey comes in and drops a lovely Caseyesque un-nuanced statement that he does so well.

A bit dicky? Perhaps.

Up steps DJ Manny. From his reaction he's either a muslim or playing devil's advocate, but the safe money is on muslim.

What does he focus on? Casey's sacriligeous (cheers bro) stab.

No matter the entire government of a self-proclaimed modern country of 170 million people wanting to indict a man on indirect blasphemy charges on the penalty of death.

No, the internet man insulting Allah ("pbuh" actually sounds like a Dutch spitting noise), yes, he's the real problem threat to your religion. No matter the wordly politics going on, this internet comment is the devil.
Anyone that thinks like that, God-motherfucking-please, go and take a good fuck to yourself off a cliff.

It so rubs me the wrong way. You would not believe. Furthermore, this is not because i'm a muslim-hater (you should see some of the people in the west, damn) but because I know and experienced that the muslim community can do so much better.

And there we have it.

Here's the cycle of what tends to happen:

1. Idiotic fundamentalist Muslims completely over-react to the tiniest possible thing, ie "Random person on internet spelt Muhammads name wrong! Nuke the entire universe!"

2. Normal, sane person (ie, me, Duke, Gotti) points out how stupid this is. This kind of stupidity is not exclusive to Islamic fundamentalists, they just happen to do it the most.

3. Muslims play the victim role - "Oh, you hateful Western infidels with your hateful ways! You hate Islam! Woe is us! We are so discriminated against! We never do anything wrong! One guy on the internet/TV show/newspaper/ said something against us and that's clearly THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE! This is all a big anti Islam plot by you evil people in the West with your freedoms and your democracies!"

I want to make something very clear right now. I am not Anti-Islam any more than am I Anti ALL religions. Sure, I understand that some people are. But just because I call you out on your bullshit does not make me one of those people. Here's an interesting tidbit of info - I'm staying in Canada for an extra two weeks after my band's tour finishes because a very good friend of mine is getting married. I'm staying at his place. Guess what? He's a Muslim and I will be attending his Muslim wedding. Would I do that if I had a problem with Islam? Of course not. Luckily, he's an intelligent, rational, sane person who would have just as many issues with this Facebook/Pakistan/Over-reaction nonsense as I do. As far as he is concerned those type of people don't represent his religion the way he sees it, at all. If only they could all be like that.

and about spelling a name correctly, there are several different ways to spell that name or those that sound just like it but have a different spelling. to those who were offended by the misspelling, have you ever come across human error, individual differences or variation between the human race? not everyone can spell everything precisely, and let's take this further to a bigger scope - if everyone and everything was perfect and so precise this world would be so impractical with everything following such a strict discipline. GET OVER IT!

You're the one that is making your religion look bad, you don't need my help for that.

Do I win something by correctly predicting that he'd whine about SH being racist now? :)

DJ Manny, why would you ask him to sign up to another forum so you can ban him? I'm sure Duke will learn the error of his ways via this punishment.

How can you say a whole forum is racist because Duke gave another perspective?

Why would you be on 30+ forums? There's another forum I know called Real Life - you can interact with all sorts of people and learn that people are different and also have different opinions, perspectives and what not. Amazingly, you can learn a lot from people from all kinds of different cultures and backgrounds instead of venting your frustration in a text box.

We don't have the foggiest who Riaz is? Possible to enlighten us? Is he the equivalent of SiGh?

I don't get this whole thing about being called a racist because you disapprove of extremists...

Probably because the way I worded it in the first post.

He should've still side-stepped it and focused on why I made such a response.

But ofc he won't. I want to say that it is typical.

Back on topic.

Is the country really expecting to try and have this guy arrested? I'm not sure what the process of having someone extradited from their own country is, but does anyone think they will try to force the US to have Mark sent to Pakistan so that they can kill him for breaking their law?

Furthermore, how exactly does that work. Technically, he didn't break any laws in Pakistan. I'm pretty sure he was not visiting Pakistan and while there, set up a "everyone draw Muhammed" fan page. Although this entire idea is a bit ridiculous, someone there has to have a good enough grasp of international law to know that this probably won't work and probably makes them look, well, sort of ridiculous.

However, I suppose that it does make them look "big bad and scary" to those people in their country already scared to death to draw Muhammad or question their government's authority. "Look, we're going after the American in charge of facebook! No one is above our rules!" Is the message they send, right? Keeping scared people in line isn't the hardest thing to do.. but certainly this helps. And in that way, this becomes a small win for their country. The west is evil! Stay away! Blah Blah Blah.

Lastly, before we all say "Fuck Pakistan"... and "countries in the west know better" please keep in mind... American governments (which are supposed to be secular) won't let gay people get married because many believe that "gay marriages go against what god intended" a chrisitan belief with their "proof" being in the bible. Human rights only extend to those who follow what the bible says. Not to all humans.
And Ireland, isn't this also a westernized country? Can't I get some ridiculous fine.. like 10K Euros for uttering or printing something that may be considered blasphemous?

Certainly those two examples aren't threatening anyone's life.. but they are just as misguided as trying to kill someone for drawing a stick figure.. are they not?

^ Someone will never be extradicted over something like this.

Pakistan are making themselves look very stupid with this on the stage of global politics.

And yeah, a whole bunch of Western governments don't have the seperation of church and state down properly. Especially USA.

Funny that a muslim country like Turkey is one of the most secular countries in the world. Bunch of real hardliners there, the military guards it. Turkey rocks.
