when did this board become filled with a bunch of unreasonable assholes?
im sick of reading "dont come back" and "why are you even here" to new members who happen to have a disagreement with someone. what kind of a fucked up attitude is this?
mods should be ambassadors of the forum, and should encourage people to stay and contribute.
manny never said anything insulting or abusive, so how is a comment like this justified, especially from a super-mod?

The whole rest vs. muslims debate has been going on in the world for a long time.
We get another thread that deals with a topic of Islamic culture clashing with Western culture. There is one reply that might be "offensive" for a muslim to read (Casey's, which was just a good joke imo, but ok). The first muslim that wandered in (i admit i was guessing he was a muslim but i guessed right) didn't focus on the country misrepresenting his religion, but he focused on some meaningless little insult on the internet.
THAT is exactly why i ranted. The sheer lack of perspective is astounding. That's what often troubles me about some religious people.
It wasn't personal towards dj manny, either. He was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, lol. But he did exemplify the exact type of believer (doesn't matter what you believe) that tends to piss me off. Hence the rant.

That's the thing though, this is where I think our argument lies. Whether he is a Muslim or not, his comment was pretty much neutral. Casey made a comment that passes the boundaries of just Pakistanis. He said their God should be killed or something along those lines. Because he spoke about the God of the entire religion, the comment is no longer only for a nation. That's why Manny said "You have a problem with Muslim people" or something along those lines.
If Casey would have said "Those Pakistani people making those rules should die" or something, it would have been different. Casey's comment reaction applies to the 1.whatever billion Muslim people there is. But the laws in that article ONLY applies to the 170 something odd million Pakistanis.
Please tell me you see what I mean. It is apples and oranges in SOME ways. If I was an American Muslim and I read that article, I would have said, wow, wtf is wrong with that nation.
Trust me when I say, I know where you're coming from. That thread in WOW that caused so much trouble, I didn't respond in those threads that much because it's hard to talk to religious people when they see no wrong. But people like Immortal Tech (the member) are real and understand what's right and wrong.

All I have to say is Fuck Dubai. It may be nice and everything but there's no freedom - the laws are so infeasible for everyday people who want to go as a couple/family and enjoy their holiday the way they want to. why go to a country on holiday and pretty much be told how to behave.
