I just realized that my way of thinking about other members, and about our community, well it changed when I could go on Facebook and look what Shadow's family looks like and what their interests are. If I wanted to sneak around I could probably learn a lot about the members on this board from simply reading how they talk to and get talked to by friends on facebook.
Then I started thinking, Facebook really has made every person out there a lot more accessible through the internet. I remember back in the days before Mike and Jon would post their pictures. Actually, I still don't think I've seen a picture of Jon. There was mystery and excitement there. It's more difficult to be mysterious without also being a pathetic fag who re-registers on another account and pretends to be someone else.
This applies furtherer into the internet world. Knowing someone's name five ten years ago didn't mean much. You could extract tax records maybe. Community sites worked with usernames like forums still do. Facebook was groundbreaking in that it associated people by their real name and not a moniker. Today it means you can get a look straight into their daily life. Do you like that people on the internet have become so accessible?
Also, who the hell are all those 309 people? That means at least every regular poster is there. Who's Taneeka, Mahlatse and Özcan?
