nice gesture. but why did that guy stop him giving away his own shirt? its looked like he was going to hand that one to him but the guy came over and gave him a different one. The supporter would have probably preferred to get the one Ronaldo actually wore lol.

It's worth more if it's player worn that's for sure. I'm not whatsoever a fan of Ronaldo, but you have to admit - it was good sportsmanship, and kind of him.

Yeah. Well in summary, Mario Balotelli protects kids from bullies. He confronted a school bully lolz.

So, Neil Lennon got attacked tonight. I'm not a fan of Lennon but I don't understand why he causes so much controversy? Yeah he can act like a faggot but why does everyone seem to hate him?

^^because Neil Lennon is a Northern Ireland catholic that played for Celtic. thats the main reason.

does he act like a faggot anymore than someone like Mourinho does? yet he is under 24 hour police protection and has bombs addressed to him.

That isn't entirely the reason, it plays a part yes. and yes he is much worse than Mourinho, given as Mourinho never was a professional player and when Lennon was he was a hatchet, he was one of the most dirtiest players i've seen, when he joined Wycombe Wanderers to end his career, the fans here didn't want him because of his reputation as been a dirty player who goads opposition players and fans. Isn't he also a wife beater?

He needs 24 hour protection he says, but doesn't he still go out and get drunk every weekend shouting abuse to people with his two bodyguards?

As a player, he also abused Rangers players, calling them 'orange bastards' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EIpwn3DuuI and there's accusation he called Diouf a 'n*gger'.

He accuses teams of laying down for Rangers, basically accusing them of cheating with no evidence, then tries to retract his comments with piss poor reasoning.

The man is a total faggot, he doesn't deserve death threats, or bombs or anything like that but he is far from a saint, far from the whole Celtic argument of "Everyone hates us because he's catholic".

I never understood the level of violence directed towards him, as its pathetic people go to those lengths but he needs to calm down himself, he celebrated infront of the Hearts fan for about a minute after Celtic's first goal.

Edit: Isn't MON a Catholic also? He never got this much abuse.

i didnt think he was a great player either. A lot of people were saying it would have been good if he played for us, but tbh i think we had a couple of players around his level. How he was as a player isnt a reason to send him bombs and attack him.

As for beating his wife, i never heard or read anything about that so i cant comment. For all you know that could be just some vicious rumour thrown out there. Apparantly he cheated on his wife though but then alot of footballers have so thats no reason for mailing a bomb and attacking him.

Is there proof that he does that? again thats just something you've heard from somewhere. i would take any story like that with a pinch of salt unless i saw it myself or there was some proof of that. There is a video of Lennon in a bar with some Celtic supporters singing some songs but thats hardly shouting abuse at people.

ok i cant make out what he is saying in that video like i cant make out what Busquets is saying to Marcelo in the one from the champions league match. And the key word in your next sentence is "accusation". Surely if he did say that then the scottish fa would have charged him or are they as lenient on racism against black people as they are on anti-irish xenophobia? Since were on this topic, name the only British club that has never signed a footballer from the Republic of Ireland in its entire history and only signed it first Catholic player in 1989? (which resulted in mass burning of season tickets and shirts)

didnt your beloved Manchester United manager do the exact same thing many times though? Arent these mind games one of the things he is famous for? Maybe, Lennon took was taking a leaf out of his book.

Alot of people in Scotland hate them because they are irish and there is a high level of anti irish xenophobia in Scotland whether you like it or not. All you had to do was listen to some of the chants at that game from the Hearts supporters to see that. "fuck off home the famine over" and "we're up to our knees in fenian blood". The Famine Song is quite ironic though in my view since the whole damn thing started off when Scots came to settle in Ireland lol. I dont paint them all with the same brush either so dont think for a second that i do. I try not to do that with people. In fact, i used to eat lunch with a Rangers supporter in one of my old jobs. a nice bloke he was too. We are talking about neanderthals here. Total brain dead morons. All this shite about religion and would you see any of the fuckers in a church on sunday morning? i doubt it.

Anyway, thats the main reason Lennon gets bombs sent to him and gets attacked. He was beaten unconscious a couple of years back too remember. Also, dont forget that Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn also had bullets and bombs addressed. They are both Northern Ireland catholics playing for Celtic. There was another player back in the 70s or 80s too that had awful problems over it too. Another factor, is that Lennon was to captain Northern Ireland and was issued death threats before the game. Thats when he left and they were also angry with him because he declared that he would like to play for a united Irish football team. Incidently, a protestant Northern Irish player by the name of Derek Dougan made a similar declaration when he played back in the 60s and he got similar treatment i believe.

Lennon needs to get out of there i think for his own safety and that of his family. He has built up his reputation and im sure there are teams in England that would take him as a manager.

For the record I never said the way he played is a reason for people to send bombs to him, I condoned it a couple of times in my post.
But his reputation as a footballer doesn't help his cause, imagine Diouf becoming a manager, or Scott Brown - Both players would be hated everywhere, moreso in Scotland for Brown.

The wife beating/public abuse has been going around before he was the manager of the club, but like most instances in football where it comes to spousal abuse it rarely gets mentioned, unless your name is El Hadji Diouf.

If it was racist, and the SPL did nothing, are we really shocked? was a banana thrown at Neymar recently and nothing was done? Didn't Busquets pretty much get away with racism until FIFA were put under pressure by online complaints today? The bodies in charge will not want to add more fuel to the fire unless it is 100% proven. But why is Lennon getting involved with a player on the pitch anyway? Why is Lennon getting involved with Ally McCoist? why does Lennon seem to get involved with opposition managers and assistants? Celtic this season almost got a referee sacked from the game because he didn't give a penalty. That is no different to Mourinho retiring Frisk.

and as far as my 'beloved' man utd, you should realise by now, I am a FAN but I am not blindly supporting my team like 90% of other football fans and acting like they have done nothing wrong, I don't condone everything what Fergie does, I don't condone the way he acted after the Arsenal game. I am not that biased when it comes to my football team and I never will be - as I can step away from the topic and look at it in many ways. Lennon accusing teams of laying down for Rangers is wrong and very disrespectul to managers like Jim Jefferies who have been in the game a lot longer than he has. When Ferguson said it about Leeds United all those years ago, it was wrong. So that point is void.

Not sure why you mentioned religion when I said its not a huge part of it, I was recently reading a forum discussion with both sets of fans and most pretty much agreed the religion side of it is overblown in the media...but speaking of religion was MON ever given this treatment? He's a Catholic also right? He got abuse but never to the levels that Lennon is getting. Though you can argue the mocking of his wife battling cancer is pretty close.

Also I think the controversy that comes with Neil Lennon will stop a lot of teams in England approaching him, he's had a decent season at Celtic, but was humped out of Europe quite easily.

Didnt McCoist walk up to Lennon at the final whistle and say something to him? thats what started that incident off after the game. I was never a huge fan of Lennon either though, but he doesnt deserve any of this. Its ridiculous. I know you agree with that though even if you dont like him.

I raised the point about Ferguson to show you why he might have done that. I guess its psychology. Hint that Hearts might not put in an effort against Rangers in the hope that they will aim to go out and prove you wrong. Didnt really work though because they got trashed and Celtic trashed them too. btw you know that there is pretty much the same divide with the 2 teams in Edinburgh? Hearts are the equivalent of Rangers while Hibs are the equivalent of Celtic. Obviously both clubs dont have the same profile so it wouldnt get near the same coverage.

I mentioned religion to show you the main reason why he gets bombs addressed to him etc. Its his background and the fact that he played for Celtic. A forum discussion doesnt speak for every fan though does it? As for O Neill, he never actually played for Celtic though. And as i said McGinn and McCourt got death threats too. Those 2 guys certainly dont seem to go out of their way to draw that attention to themselves. Even Susan Boyle got threats lol. because she supports Celtic. i really dont know why that is. Maybe things are getting worse up there. i dont know. The thing that baffles me is that Anthony Stokes never got anything.

The fact is religion is a huge part in it unfortunately. I mean, Rangers had a policy in place not to sign catholics. Alex Ferguson played for Rangers and was pretty much outcasted from the club after he married a catholic woman. The club is synonymous with the protestant religion and unionism whereas Celtic is more about Irishness rather than being a catholic club. They have always have been more inclusive about who they sign that Rangers have. They certainly never had a policy in place not to sign protestants. Kenny Dalglish grew up supporting Rangers but ended up becoming one of Celtic's greatest ever players. Incidently, It was Graeme Sounes that made efforts to remove that policy at Rangers and showed it by signing Mo Johnston.

So while some supporters support Rangers and Celtic for footballing reasons and only footballing reasons, there are plenty that support them for religious reasons and the reasons associated with the divide in the Northern Ireland conflict. thats just they way it is unfortunately.

Which is ridiculous anyway. All Christian religions and Islam were derived from the same religion anyway. If people really knew the history behind religion, would they really be religious? Although that may be a bit deep for a football forum.

Personally, the world is full of jealousy. More so than ever. I don't hate Wayne Rooney or John Terry. But I see they get booed every week. Not because they are poor role models. Because they get to shag fit birds (well Terry does) and those doing the booing are shagging fat munters.

Pretty pathetic that a team like Sampdoria can go down, what was the owner thinking of selling Pazzini, releasing Cassano and replacing them with Biabany and Macheda. This team was in the Champions League qualifiers this season and were about a minute away from being in the group stages. The people in charge should explain wtf has gone on.

Bad day for Duke, Ajax beat Twente and won the league. finished 3-1.

Rangers have won the league again, good way for Walter Smith to go out.

^^its shocking really. ive never seen a team fall so far in such a short space of time. The president has a lot to answer for. the way he got rid of Cassano was petty and childish but i can understand that Pazzini wanted to move on to Inter. As you said, the way they replaced those players was pathetic. Biabiany, Maccarone and Macheda on loan. shocking signings.

Macheda really is average. I don't see him having a future at Man Utd - Would like to be proved wrong, plus I guess we owe him a bit still :p

Thinking of Serie A recently, It would be good seeing Napoli in the Champions League and Udinese if both can keep their players, I expect AC Milan to be stronger next season.

Roma's new owners have said they will buy players, they could be a force in the Europa Liga if the Italians take it seriously for once. Losing their 4th CL spot came down to the EL teams not giving a fuck about it whereas Germany did. As the Germans haven't done much in the Champions League recently apart from Bayern's run to the final.

Juventus... even though I dislike Juventus I really wish they would actually buy decent players for once, they let Giovinco leave and he haunts them every time he plays against them - the only good signings they've made recently was Krasic, maybe Matri and Quagirella, they don't seem overly keen on Aqua man either.

Also, the Premiership is on about the fight for staying up being so exciting, look at the La Liga table, anyone from 12th down can go down with a game to go.
